Our mission
Open Land for an Open Community
Friends of Putterham exists to promote, improve and sustain the course for everyone: golfers, dog walkers, families, and neighbors who simply value having beautiful public green space in their town.

Who we are
Your Neighbors, Creating Community in Nature
We’re a newly formed, formally organized group, with a board, bylaws, and a growing list of donors and supporters. We are made up of local golfers, residents, and community members who care deeply about Putterham and its role in Brookline. We work hand in hand with course management and the Town of Brookline to make sure this special place thrives. One of the most significant goals is to make Putterham a destination for golfers, as well as non-golfers. We will be hosting fairs, concerts, movie nights, and other events that the entire community can enjoy. We have also opened Putterham Woods: A welcoming path through stunning woods worthy of a poem by Robert Frost. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll through Putterham Woods from dawn to dusk.

Our community
So Much More than 18 Holes, a Space for Everyone.
Concerts. Community fairs. Movie nights. Morning walks. Putterham is a living, breathing part of Brookline life, and there’s something here for you whether you’ve ever picked up a club or not.

Get involved
You Don’t Have to Golf to Make a Difference
We offer several options for those who want to support Putterham and stay connected to its future. Every donation and every dollar moves us closer to our mission to maintain accessible, inclusive, and enjoyable golf, open space, and recreational opportunities for citizens of all ages and abilities—while ensuring fiscal responsibility and the long-term sustainability of the course and its facilities.
